Born in Bühl, Baden, in 1946, the artist now lives and works in Kehl.
Since his international success in the 1970s, Geiler has been one of the leading concrete-constructivist artists.
His works have been shown in over 100 exhibitions to date,
including Amsterdam, Basel, Berlin, Geneva, Hong Kong, Miami, New York, Paris and Zurich.
An eye for the essentials
From mid-August, the Kehl-based artist will be showing his concrete-constructive works here.
Geiler uses reduced forms and colors to emphasize the minimalist character of the landscape.
Different materials give his constructions a multi-layered depth and thus a complex level of effect of concrete art.
The circle plays a particularly important role for Geiler. It symbolizes the earthly, the globe and thus the basis of every landscape.
The artist’s paintings and reliefs encourage us to reflect on our own perception of the landscape
and a change of perspective.
