The young Portuguese is now very present internationally in the art world and is attracting attention with her installations in public spaces. Her interactive installation “Shall we dance?” was featured in The Guardian newspaper in August 2018 as one of the 10 best landscape art installations worldwide.
Ferreira’s works are always characterized by rich colors and geometric forms, two components that she combines in large-format, color-intensive installations to create three-dimensional, kinetic compositions. While her earlier works concentrated particularly on the harmonious interplay of geometry and color, her new works focus on industrial ruins as well as abandoned objects and their past.
“Everyone has their own subjective views and feelings about the city as a landscape. Urban landscapes are both an expression of identity and a means of shaping the relationships of those who inhabit them. The city is subject to constant change”.
The exhibition is open from 24 February to 21 April.
